Taking inspiration from the Anglesey Landscape,
Wildlife and People around me I enjoy working with
all types of media, currently favouring watercolour,
pastel and ink.

For over 40 years my work has been inspired by the sea and mountains, but it all starts with the sky! Nature creates, I just strive to capture.

I paint my chosen subject aggressively, and honestly. I try to dismiss learnt techniques to overcome problems in painting so that it will have a raw and uncompromising quality. My work can be taken to be a form of communication, expression or dealing with something. It is effectively the end result of trying to find a narrative in the paint.
Having highlighted landscape and abstract work in previous years, this year’s focus is on portraits and figures. These are either drawn or painted from life or inspired by experiences such as events and music.
In addtion to days open during the Weeks I am open throughout the year by prior appointment.

13 Parc Tyddyn,
Beaumaris’s elegant buildings have been the inspiration for a lot of my paintings. Recent lockdowns reminded me of The Prisoner filmed in N Wales and resulted in more surreal art.

I live on Earth at present, and I don’t know what I am. I know that I am not a category. I’m not a noun. I’m an evolutionary process — an integral function of the universe. Art is the visualisation of that intelligence, and here is my inspiration for that notion.
