Llangristiolus
Come off A55 at Llangefni, take A5 for Gaerwen. On A5 almost immediately a right turn sign post Llangristiolus and Nant Yr Odyn Hotel. Follow lane for approx 1 mile. Red post box on left, take right turn opposite. Follow approx ½ mile. At end of high stone wall turn left. I am a few yards further up track on right. Parking top of hill.
My work consists of large oils on canvas, charcoal, and pencil drawings. I feel very connected to things that are folding and dying as they contort and twist from their upright forms. Organic flowering and earthy colours, the work celebrates a fascination for the natural forms found in hedgerows and fields.
My practice focuses on degradation, chance and abandonment. Qualities such as decay, light, historical graffiti and ephemeral detail remain untouched and honest. Interests in colour and ancient cultures combine to create a background influence on my work, whether photographing dereliction or decaying nature or large paintings on found materials.
