From the roundabout at Cemaes Bay, take the road signposted to Llanfechell. In 1 mile turn left to Llanfechell. Take first turn right (by 30mph signs) I am 150 yards on left.
Mine is a diverse practice which includes painting, photography, computer imaging and sculpture. By using abstraction, I try to create work that encourages the viewer to explore his own response without the guide given by a title.
For many years I have been exploring faces carved on C18th slate headstones – I have a collection of over 100 photos. Time obscures them with lichen and soil, they crumble and split, but enough remain to stare back through the centuries and fascinate me – my work uses layers, pasted on or pulled off; my canvasses record history embedded in the earth, as if covering or uncovering the past.
