The Anglesey Arts Forum exists to promote the arts on Anglesey. Membership of the Forum is free and anyone interested or involved in the arts in any way is welcome to join. Anglesey based performers or groups please contact us if you would like to particpate in APAW.

The Members’ Profiles tab above lists all the current members with details of their work. The AAW Open Studios tab gives details of the Open Studios and Galleries Weeks (9 – 24 April 2022). The Performing Arts Weeks will next be held in October/November 2022. We hope you find the information on this site useful and, if you are not from Anglesey, that it encourages you to come over and visit our beautiful Island packed full as it is with creative people!

ANGLESEY OPEN STUDIOS 2022

9 APRIL – 24 APRIL

The Anglesey Arts Weeks (AAW): Open Studios and Galleries Weeks promotes art on Anglesey by inviting painters, sculptors, photographers, film-makers, printmakers, installation artists and craft workers to open their studios to visitors for two weeks. Our popular handbook lists all the participants and includes a map to plan your visits and navigate the Island along with details of the free walking and sketching tours. The 2022 Guide will be available soon. Hard copies will be available from artists’ studios and at key places throughout the Island. EXHIBITIONS

Take the rare opportunity to see a large collection of current local artists work together within two exhibitions across the Island.

All artists who have opened their doors to the public this year are exhibiting a piece of their work at two locations across the Island.

CHANGES AND UPDATES TO THE AAW OPEN STUDIOS GUIDE

Changes – numbers refer to Guide Entry Numbers:

Some good news
No 47 Huw Gareth Jones now clear of COVID and open for rest of the Weeks.
No 26 Jenny Armour remains closed for rest of the Weeks due to unexpected early call forward for knee operation.
 
No 27 Irene Taylor Moores closed until further notice due to ill health in the household.
No 32 David Weaver closed Thursday 21 April but open Friday 22 April (different from printed Guide but correct on webpage). 
 
No 52 Wanda Garner, and now David, tested positive so closed until further notice and also will not be present in Plas Bodfa.

 

Art and landscape walks

This year’s outdoor programme of popular walks and sketching tours is set out below. The walks will combine visits to artists’ studios with en-route insights into the landscape and history, which inspire many of our artists. Instruction is given on sketching walks, which are therefore suitable for both beginners and the experienced.

Anglesey Performing Arts Weeks 2022

The Anglesey Performing Arts Weeks (APAW) are running from 15-30 October 2022. This year the APAW feature a wide selection of music for all tastes both for adult and family audiences alike. Information about activities during the weeks is available on this website and at http://www.ucheldre.org/allevent.htm Also Forum Artists are going to be opening their studios during these weeks.
